Reed's Law: A claim made in 1999 that internet value will be greatest -- ie, network returns to scale will grow fastest -- not in publishing or transactions, but in enabling subgroups to form and function. Thus it predicted that eBay would eclipse OnSale. The article includes a decent intro to network effects. Various other publications picked up Reed's idea. 10:44:25 PM
